Is the Orbitkey x Chipolo Bluetooth Tracker v2 a GPS tracker?Updated 2 years ago

It is not a GPS tracker; it uses Bluetooth to connect with your phone and creates a log of current locations (if in range) or last known locations (if out of range).

GPS trackers are generally larger and require more power, making them impractical for tracking keys and other smaller items.

Do I need internet access to use my Orbitkey x Chipolo Bluetooth Tracker v2?

You do not need an internet connection to find your Orbitkey x Chipolo Bluetooth Tracker v2, as it uses Bluetooth to connect.

The Chipolo app will also remember the last known location when your Tracker v2 was connected to your phone. If your Tracker v2 was last connected to another mobile device, you need an internet connection to get the location through the Chipolo system. You also need an internet connection (data or Wi-Fi) to register or sign into the Chipolo app and to pair your Tracker v2 initially. Once you are signed in, internet access is not required for connecting to your Tracker v2 via the app.

Can the Orbitkey x Chipolo Bluetooth Tracker v2 be used for children or pets?

The Orbitkey x Chipolo Bluetooth Tracker v2 is not a GPS tracker; rather, it uses Bluetooth to connect with your phone and creates a log of current locations (if in range) or last known locations (if out of range). As such, we do not recommend using our Tracker v2 to track children or pets.
